Books by Russell Annabel

If you have hunted in Alaska, or dream of doing so, you will definitely enjoy Annabel's books. He spent the summer and fall months in Alaska with his family, guiding fishermen and hunters. In the winter and early spring he went to Mexico where he guided fishermen (and where he also had a secret second family!). He embelished many of his stories and some are pure fiction, but entertaining nonetheless. Hemingway called Annabel "the best outdoor writer I every read".

A book is a first edition if it is so stated on the copyright page, and, usually, if the year on the title page is the same as the copyright.

Examine the photos carefully as they are an integral part of the description.

The Way We Were (Vol. V in series)

1997 First Edition. Limited to 1,000 copies, this is number 878. Signed by Annabel's wife and son. Fine in fine slipcase. 347 pages. I don't think this book has ever been read, because the Safari Press postcard is still in the front. First editions of Annabel's books are very much in demand.

Price: $75

1997. Second edition (first trade edition). Years 1970-1979. 347 pages. Illustrated by Louise Lopina. Book is in Near Fine condition with a fine DJ. There is a "wavy" area at the bottom of the first and last few pages of the book. No staining or other evidence of water damage so I suspect this occurred during manufacture.
