1872 First Edition. A very rare title, but poor so priced accordingly. Finger marks, moderate stains, and smudging of about 40% of pages. Moderate scattered foxing. Torn corner of one plate (see photo). 503 pages with 72 pages of appendices. 34 full page illustrations. Rebound with original front and rear cloth relaid. Facsimile of buffalo (American bison) on front cover. Title in black on spine. Webb toured Kansas and Oklahoma to pique interest in settling those areas. He met Buffalo Bill and Wild Bill Hickok. A good description of the people and life in the West of the late 1860's and a rare title. |
